How do you handle delicate or high-value items?

For fragile and high-value items such as antiques, artwork, pianos, and glassware, we use specialist packing techniques and materials, including double-walled boxes, custom crates, and additional padding. If required, we offer an enhanced insurance option for extra peace of mind. Please inform us in advance if you have any delicate or high-value items that require special care.

What is your policy on delays or rescheduling?

We understand that unexpected circumstances can sometimes lead to delays. If you need to reschedule your move, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your new date. If delays occur on our end due to unforeseen issues such as traffic or extreme weather, we will keep you informed and work swiftly to minimise any inconvenience.

Are there any items you cannot move?

Yes, for safety and legal reasons, we are unable to transport certain items, including:

  • Hazardous materials (e.g., flammable liquids, chemicals, gas cylinders)
  • Perishable foods
  • Illegal substances
  • Live animals or plants that require special handling
  • Cash, jewellery, or other high-value personal items (we recommend transporting these yourself)
If you’re unsure about an item, feel free to ask us before your moving day.
How far in advance should I book my move?

We recommend booking your move as early as possible, especially during peak moving seasons (spring, summer, and weekends). Ideally, aim to book at least 4–6 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. However, we do our best to accommodate last-minute moves whenever possible.

What payment methods do you accept, and when is payment due?

We accept various payment methods, including bank transfers, debit/credit cards, and cash payments. A deposit may be required to secure your booking, with the balance typically due on or before moving day. Please check with our team for specific details regarding your move.

What should I do if my new home isn’t ready on moving day?

If your new home isn’t ready, we offer flexible solutions, including secure storage for your belongings until you can move in. We can also reschedule your delivery for a later date if required. Please inform us as soon as possible if there’s a delay so we can assist you in making the necessary arrangements.

How can I track the progress of my move?

On the day of your move, our team will keep you informed about the progress. If you need updates, you can contact our office or speak directly with the removals team. For long-distance moves, we may be able to provide estimated arrival times and updates along the way.

Do you provide assistance with disassembling and reassembling furniture?

Yes! Our team can dismantle and reassemble large furniture items such as beds, wardrobes, and dining tables. This service is available upon request and can save you time and effort. Let us know in advance if you require this service so we can bring the necessary tools and allocate time accordingly.

Do you offer storage solutions if I can't move into my new home immediately?

Yes! We provide secure short-term and long-term storage options if your new home isn’t ready when you move out. Our storage facilities are climate-controlled and monitored 24/7 for security. Whether you need a few days or several months of storage, we can tailor a solution to suit your needs.

What measures do you take to protect my belongings during the move?

We take great care in handling your belongings to ensure they arrive safely at your new home. Our trained professionals use high-quality protective materials, such as furniture blankets, bubble wrap, and padded covers, to safeguard delicate and valuable items. We also secure items in our vehicles using straps to prevent movement during transit.

How do I get a quotation?

We can supply you with an accurate quote with no obligation by using one of the following methods:

Online – For a basic home removal please complete and submit our simple and easy to use ‘Contents of home Estimation form’. You will receive a quick response from one of our team during our office hours.

How do I book a removal and how much notice do I need to give?

We operate a reasonable first come first served policy, in regard to bookings, ensuring that all our customers are dealt with fairly. If you are happy with the quote we have provided, please contact us as soon as you know your moving date so we can book you in. Once you have confirmed your booking by paying the required deposit, the date is yours!

It is better to book your removal date sooner rather than later as our availability does get limited, however, occasionally we are able to accommodate clients at short notice so please don’t hesitate to call us free on

0800 45 49 53, and one of our team will be happy to help.

A removal company’s busiest times can be on a Friday, weekends and at the end of the month, so if possible try to avoid accepting a removal date at these times, however, we do understand that banks, estate agents & solicitors etc. determine the dates and this may be completely out of your control.

Do you offer a packing service?

This is completely your choice, we can do as much packing or as little as you choose. We offer a range of services and systems that will help meet your packing requirements.

We can either pack and unpack everything for you, or just pack items for the removal, or if you prefer to pack yourself, we can supply and deliver high quality packing materials to your door in advance, you will only be charged for the materials you use and we will collect any unused materials on your moving day.

Do you go outside of London & the UK?

We go outside of London but not the UK.

UK Moving – Our Home Removals Team and vehicles complete your move exactly as agreed in advance for the assured price provided at the quotation stage. For smaller and local moves, we offer an hourly rate with just a 2 hour minimum time (subject to postcode).

What is included in a quotation?

Every home & every move is different, so we customise our quotation to suit your specific needs and requirements. We offer a range of services and packing materials for you to choose from, which will all be included in your quote, including Packing in advance or delivering boxes & cartons for you to pack; disposal of unwanted items etc.

All our quotes include liability insurance of up to £50,000, however, this can be increased if the value of your belongings is over £50,000. All we ask is for you to inform us of this so we can provide you with suitable insurance cover and an accurate quotation. All our quotes are supplied with a copy of our terms & conditions and a copy of our summary of Insurance cover.

How do I pay for my removals?

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Debit cards or Credit cards secure payment system
  • BACS payment directly from your account into our secure bank account

How do I get a copy of your Terms & Conditions?

Our Terms and Conditions are fair and have been tested and approved by the relevant authorities, they are based on best industry practice and the specific requirements outlined by the British Association of Removers (BAR) and UK Insurance Industry Standards.

What happens about Insurance cover?

Should you accept our quotation, we will cover you for up to £50,000, subject to your declaration of contents value, however you must tell us in writing if you value your belongings to be over £50,000, to enable us to provide you with suitable insurance cover and an accurate quotation.

Our cover ‘is effective from the time your insured property is professionally packed and/or uplifted from your residence or business location for the commencement of the transit and continues, including storage, if any, until your insured property is professionally delivered to the final destination. If your property is professionally unpacked by us coverage is extended to cover the period of the professional unpacking provided this takes place within 7 days of delivery’

We also advise that you check your Home Contents insurance provider, as some home policies cover your possessions during transportation.

How do you calculate your removal charges?

Whether you are moving home or business, our quotes are individual and vary according to your specific needs and exact requirements.

Your quote is calculated depending on the following:

  • What size vehicle you will need for the total volume of your contents
  • The parking & access to load the vehicle
  • Size of the moving team required to carry out a safe move
  • What Packing Materials you choose (if any)
  • What Services you select
  • The destination postcode you are moving to & the access to the new property/premises
  • Any other special requirements or requests

What happens if there are problems or legal delays with my Removal?
Sometimes things happen that are out of your control, such as last minute delays with solicitors or problems with exchange date arrangements, banks etc.

We understand that these situations can be extremely stressful and cause worry, however, we can offer a comprehensive range of storage rooms which are always available immediately. All your belongings can stay in our secure storage facility until any legal solutions or a new exchange date has been confirmed. Your possessions will be safe and secure whilst at our storage facility, offering 24/7 security and controlled admission. You can visit the storage during the day to access your items then when you are ready to move, we will load and deliver your belongings to the provided address.
