Are removal companies worth it?

Are removal companies worth it?

Well, of course, as we are a removal company, we are going to say yes, but we have many reasons why they’re worth it! But it’s definitely worth bearing with us and understanding why…

When it comes to moving, there may be different options available on what your removal company can do and the services they offer. Yes, they can transport your furniture and items, but they can also do all the preparation in terms of packing and even provide packaging, and then unpack at the other end. While these are extras, there are many benefits of using a removal company, on a standard service:

Less stress

We all know that moving is said to be one of the most stressful events of your life, so it’s worth thinking of ways to bring that down. Once you’ve done the heavy lifting with contracts and solicitors, it’s easier to let someone else do the heavy lifting with your possessions.

Less to worry about

This is a big one. While you may take on a move a few times in your life, a professional removal company does this every day. They are experts in keeping items safe, and if anything does go wrong, then you will have the back up of insurance – it’s worth checking out what insurance your potential removal company has before you go ahead.

When was the last time you drove a lorry?

…or a large van, for that matter? While removal companies are experts at moving your items, they are also well-practiced in driving the larger vehicles needed to transport your items from A to B.

More time to get settled

While all of your possessions are being loaded, transported and unloaded, you’ll have time to do the final bits of paperwork with solicitors and working out the utility bills. You’ll also have time to get unpacking and working out where you’d like things to be.

We can’t just give you the positives…

How can we expect you to trust us if we’re only telling you the good things about using a removal company? There are some downsides to factor in.

Like any service that you take on, it will be more expensive than doing it yourself. It’s up to you to offset the expense against what you’ll be receiving to work out whether it’s worth it.

Some research is also involved, as you’ll want to check out different removal companies and see if they are right for you, also ensuring that they offer the right insurances, covering your possessions during transit. You’ll also want to find out if they are members of a trade body, and what their terms are regarding cancellation, or if your move goes over its allotted time, and whether you need to arrange parking permits, and how your possessions will be protected in the case of extreme weather.
